Link TV

I just stumbled on Link TV

Its sort of like discovering that Dubai owns Vegas.
Running on Murdoch owned Direct TV today there is a continual progression of informative programs; "Propaganda", "Orwell Rolls in his Grave", "The Innocent", "The Planet", "Blackwater: Army for Hire", "Politics of War", Burning the Future"-Coal in America", Amy Goodman Speaking Out for Justice" and "Democracy Now" I never realized were there.
As I sit here they are advertising "GITMO" for Thursday, and a program on the South American Police called "Blood and Land" scheduled for Friday
Where the hell have I been?
While I think its about time I found a TV channel that informs rather than misinforms, I'm blown away by the fact that its been around for a decade and I have never heard of it before. I'm also curious why Murdoch is now living in the suburbs of Beijing,China.
Link TV is the first nationwide television channel dedicated to providing Americans with global perspectives on news, events and culture.
The channel was launched in December 1999, on DIRECTV and added to EchoStar's DISH Network a few weeks later. Currently, the channel is available as a basic service in over 29 million U.S. homes that receive direct broadcast satellite television (DBS). The DBS broadcast rights for Link TV were obtained under FCC guidelines requiring the DBS operators to allocate 4% of their channels for non-commercial public service programming.
Link TV is operated by Link Media, Inc. a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization formed through a partnership between Internews Network, a leading supporter of independent television around the world, the Independent Television Service (ITVS), an experienced supplier of independently-produced programs for public television, and Internews Interactive (InterAct), a specialist in participatory TV programming.
When I first moved to Maine and got Direct TV, It seemed to have rather a lot of stuff I wasn't interested in watching. Link seems to have imput from both Jewish groups and Al Jazeera, but also Rolling Stone, antiwar groups, documentaries on the dangers of the media, imprisonment of the innocent, the kidnapping, torture, murder and other Bushco attrocities, all the details that seem not to be of interest to the MSM.
